Visitation Ministry

Have you ever felt alone or just in need of a friend? Perhaps you have been in a hospital or other situation where you felt separated from family and in need of a friendly face with a warm smile. There are always members of our church family that are unable to attend worship and fellowship for a variety of reasons. Some are unable to drive, some are in nursing homes, and others are simply in need of knowing that we care.

This is where our Center Harbor Church Ministry of Visitation plays a vital role. One way we can be stewards in Christ is to live a life of community sharing with others the love and fellowship God has given us.  What we do is simply visit those who are in the hospital, those who are shut-ins, and those that just need a visit. We talk, pray, provide care that is good for the soul, and let them know they are important to our church family. We do it because we care.

We need volunteers to offer just a little of their time to this ministry. You can do it on a regular monthly basis or just as you are able. You do not need to make a long term commitment. Formally, the church’s visiting was primarily something the deacons were involved with but as others have indicated their interest in doing this, we are now opening this ministry to all that have a desire to be involved in this form of stewardship. If you speak to anyone that has done this visiting, one thing you will learn is that those doing the visiting walk away with as much or more than those that are being visited.

We encourage you to consider trying this ministry. You will be a blessing and a source of hope to someone in need, and you will also feel an accomplishment in knowing that the Lord is smiling on you for doing His work. So be blessed and be a blessing! If you would like to be involved in this ministry please contact the church secretary.
