Church Activities

Women's Fellowship and Luncheons
The women of the church get together for fellowship luncheons at the church or at local restaurants.

Embrace Diversity

This is an ongoing program to understand the diversity in the community around us, to understand the special needs of various groups, and to discover how we might help as a church and as individuals.  We have luncheons and special speakers.

Spirituality
Once a week, in the morning, a small group shares the joys and struggles of trying to become the people that God intends. This group has discovered that spirituality is much more than merely being pious and saintly—it is real life situations that influence the ways we live and love and serve. Often the meeting is followed by going out for breakfast/coffee.
Brown Bag Lenten Series
Join us for lunch once a week during Lent. Last year we explored some of “the Strange Places We Find Jesus”.
Yard Sales
We join in with the town wide Yard Sales in the Spring and Fall to raise funds for the church.
Church Breakfasts, Lunches, and Dinners

It has been said that church folks love to eat and Center Harbor Community Church follows proudly in that tradition. Included are the Bethlehem Inn Pot Luck, Pancake Breakfast (fundraiser to support Rawdat El-Zuhur), Easter Breakfast, and various other Luncheons and Programs.

Reach the Beach
There are some people who feel the need to run, a lot. For such people there is the New Hampshire "Reach the Beach" Relay which is the longest distance running relay race (about 200 miles) in the United States. The teams start running from Cannon Mountain on Friday morning and run through the day and overnight, reaching Hampton Beach on Saturday. The church serves as a "Transition Area" where runners check in and switch. We provide food and facilities for over 400 teams that pass through starting Friday evening until around 2 am on Saturday.
Church Picnic
In September, Church members say farewell to the summer season by getting together at Lake Waukewan for a Church Picnic.
Peace Pole

Our peace pole here at Center Harbor Congregational Church, UCC is one of over 200,000 “planted” in 180 countries around the world.  A prayer for world peace carries a message of great hope and healing; it transcends barriers of nationality, race and religion to unite us all in a call for the common good of all life on earth. Click the link for more information.

Game Nights
Get your game on! What? You haven’t got a Clue? Don’t want to take a Risk? Afraid you’ll be placed in Jeopardy? We don’t have a Monopoly on having fun, come join in. You won’t be Sorry!
Ice Cream Socials
From May into September church members assemble for a critical meeting one evening a week at various fine Ice Cream Shoppes around the Lake. Check the Church calendar for locations.
Beach Parties
In the dead of winter, when Lake Winnipesaukee is frozen and there is a foot or two of snow on the ground the intrepid  members of the Center Harbor Community Church go to the beach ………………. in the loving warmth of Gilpatric Hall. The theme is just right to take off the chill.
Craft Group
These are the clever folks that put together some of the great stuff that is sold at the Flea Market and Craft Fair and the Holly Fair. If you are the creative type or just like to get together for some crafty fellowship keep an eye out for this group’s meetings.
Faith and Family Night at the Fisher Cats
We head on down to Manchester for a Fisher Cats baseball game and dinner.
Fireworks and Fellowship
We get together for the town concert and then go up the hill by the church for a spectacular view of the fireworks.
Second Sundays
The youth of the church (grades 6 – 12), get together early Sunday evening for various fellowship activities.
Christmas Caroling for Shut-ins
We gather for a merry time driving to some of our shut-ins and singing some traditional Christmas carols to help them, and us, get into the spirit of the season.

Mardi Gras

Just before Lent we get together after church for crafts, singing, and a Children’s parade

Al-Anon

Strength and hope for friends and families of problem drinkers. You have choices. There is hope. Weekly meetings are held at the church.

Activities We Advertise and Members Participate In

National Day of Prayer

Prayer has always been used in this country for guidance, protection and strength - even before we were a nation or a handful of colonies. The Pilgrims at Plymouth relied on prayer during their first and darkest winter. Our founding fathers also called for prayer during the Constitutional Congress. In their eyes, our recently created nation and freedoms were a direct gift from God. And being a gift from God, there was only one way to insure protection - through prayer.

Pemigewasset Choral Society

Since it was organized at Plymouth State College in 1973, The Pemigewasset Choral Society is pleased to have shared its music in nearly 240 concerts in central New Hampshire. Several members of the church choir also sing in the Society. “Pemi” has grown to over 130 singers who collectively travel thousands of miles each week for rehearsals.  Members range from college students to octogenarians, and represent a wide variety of occupations.  The group performs a varied repertoire of classical works and selections, folk, and show tunes.  No auditions are held; the only membership requirement is a love of singing, the ability to sing on key, and the commitment to attend weekly rehearsals.

Prepared to Serve

The New Hampshire Conference, UCC provides training for church members on a variety of topics, including stewardship, church leadership, church finances, global missions and Christian education.
